I’d like to start by saying I know these light painting shots are quite delayed, and I apologize to everyone who purchased them back in September. I always strive to deliver a quality product and refuse to rush through photos and process them in a way where the end result is of poor quality. Anyone who knows me, knows I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my photography / digital arts.. When it comes to these long exposure shots – the amount of time it takes to get the coloring and shading just right, to patch out minor scratches and objects – it is no different. A good chunk of time went into these as I never want someone who paid me for a service to feel underwhelmed upon receipt.
Where ya been, man? Why 5 months later??
Between Stratobash and now, I’ve gone through all my backlog of photos and posted the ones to the gallery that turned out the best. I had the opportunity to sneak in a trip to DriftCon After Dark down in Monroe, WA with some of the Spec-D boys and the Hartum Family to visit Carlton McDonald and Jayce Habich on their home turf at Evergreen Raceway across my birthday… Since returning from that trip I’ve unfortunately been tied up with my current job as we’ve been making some staffing changes at a radical pace, but for the better… Long days don’t leave much free time for fun. We had started running Virtual Drift Competitions online in Assetto Corsa, which I’ll admit took a bit more initial execution and planning then I’d thought – but anyone who has managed to tune into the streams or play along with us has loved what we’ve come up with so far – so that feels rewarding and I feel we are definitely going in the right direction. As of posting this, we have two more rounds to go. One sometime in February, and another one to wrap up the season in March. The 2024 Calendar was thrown together, between the last few weeks of November and end of December (the holidays being a busy time for all.) Prep work and initial planning for the 2024 edition of DriftZone v4 were done in January, plus many gallery pages for all the Pro drivers were done.
Seeing as it is now February… I’ve decided to release these sets for download at no cost. These always turn out to be my favorite shots when all is said and done, and the file is finally exported out of photoshop. Thanks to all who signed up for this package at Stratobash – I hope you enjoy the way these turned out. (PS, these make great wallpapers)
To save, click / tap on an image, it should expand. **There is a bug where some widescreen photos show up letterboxed when expanded – the saved images do not reflect this.** Tap and hold / Right Click and the option to save the image should appear. Drivers, I can email you high-resolution files should you wish.
Each section will be titled by driver / car. Drivers whom have purchased the package will be displayed first.. some surprises will be displayed afterwards, these being cars with great placement / that caught my eye as I’d waited for other drivers to be ready for their session. I’d also experimented with a few variants of some compositions. I have posted a combination of the compositions with some originals.
